Friday Five

1. I met the coolest teacher at my son's swim club. She and her hub went to Singapore with their two kids to teach for two years. She was thrilled to learn I wrote YA and I gave her my book to read. She's one of those totally positive, good zen people who are a wonderful find. She's gushing about Waiting To Score, but she is the type of person who gushes effortlessly. I also gave her The Hunger Games to Read. It is my current fave book to pass along to non YA readers to convert them.

2. Summer is zipping right on by but I still feel like I'm waiting for it to start in some ways. Does that make complete no sense. Good. For me, too.

3. Working on Weight of Bones, but all week I've been deleting instead of adding words. Thanks to other writers who assure me I'm still being productive!

4. I went to the Central Library in Calgary this week and scored a WHACK of great YA books I've been wanting to read. Now I just have to find the time to READ them!!

5. Son has become enamored with Goosebumps books. I am SO excited because this is the FIRST time he has been excited about a series of BOOKS!! I heart R.L. Stine who I greatly suspect is a group of ghostwriters. Whatevs....LOVE!

I believe it is our duty to convert people to YA through the Hunger Games at all costs! I can't wait for book 2 in October...
